Nissan S30 (marketed in Japan as Nissan Fairlady Z and other markets such as Datsun 240Z and later 260Z and 280Z) is the first generation of 2 + 2 Z sports coupe produced by Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. From 1969 to 1978, developed by a team led by Yoshihiko Matsuo, director of the Nissan Sports Car Design Studio, HLS30 is the name of the left-hand drive model, and HS30 is the name of the right-hand drive model. Fairlady Z was launched at the end of 1969 as a 1970s model, equipped with a 2.0-liter SOHC-L20A inline-6 engine, rear-wheel drive and a stylish coupe body. The engine is based on the 4-cylinder Datsun 510 and can output 150 horsepower. (112 kW) and equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission (240Z models are equipped with a 2.4-liter L24 engine and a 4-speed manual transmission). The less common 3-speed automatic transmission has been optional since 1971 and bears the "Nissan Fully Automatic" badge. The four-wheel independent suspension consists of a front Macpherson pillar (borrowed from Datsun Laurel C30) and a rear Chapman pillar. Front disc brakes and rear drum brakes are standard. 240Z was introduced to the US market in 1970 by Yutaka Katayama, President of Nissan Motor's U.S. Operations. He is often referred to as "Mr.". The 240Z in the early 1970s had a chrome-plated 240Z badge on the side of the B-pillar. They contain two vents. In the rear baffle below the glass panel. The trim panels on the side pillars have been redesigned and the letter Z has been added and the vents have been removed from the hatch. The U-type was changed throughout the production process, and the design and manufacturing changes were described in the American side-pull SU single cylinder carburetor. The carburetor was improved from the 1973 model to meet the emission standards, but the performance of the early carburetor was much better. In 1975, fuel injection (electronic L-Jetronic injection developed by Bosch) was added to the 280Z in the United States. This is mainly to solve the problem of obtaining sufficient power from the carburetor while meeting the US emission standards. Compared with other foreign sports cars (Jaguar, BMW, Porsche, etc.) at the time, prices became popular in the United States, which was a huge success for Nissan. A car company that sold cars in North America under the name of Datsun. 240Z has also expanded the image of Japanese automakers and surpassed its commercial success. Very successful in the 1970s-Connecticut racing team Bob Sharp and Bob Bondurant (Brock Racing Enterprises-BRE) achieved particular success in the No. 46 Datsun 510 driven by John Morton. The success of driving the Z-car between 1970 and 1978 is also considered a catalyst for the imported parts industry. They bought the original 240Z there, professionally refurbished it, and then sold it at the dealer for $24,000.
